In 1999-2004 Oldsmobile has used 3 different engines to accompany Getrag F23 5 speed manual transmission or 4T40-E and 4T45-E automatic transmission, the engines were 2002-2004 2.2 L Ecotec L61 I4, 2.4 L LD9 I4 and 3.4 L LA1 V6. While the Pontiac Grand Am entered its 5th generation while it rolled off the assembly line in 1998. Pontiac uses the powerful 3.4L V6 engine as an added variant, to replace the Ecotec 2.2L as a Grand Am standard engine. Pontiac Grand Am and Oldsmobile Alero shares the same N-Body platform and same FF layout. Grand Am SE, SE1, SE2, GT and GT1 are Pontiac Grand Am variants. Table of contents:
